No, Kungsleden is not a country... but it certainly is a world of its own! It is considered to be one of the best hiking trails in the world and goes on for about 440km.

• 2018: With my friend Marco, we went there from Stockholm and did a portion of it for a week. From Abisko to Nikkaluokta, passing by Tarfala on a day trip, we walked 121km on our snow shoes. It was an amazing adventure and we can't wait to come back!

• 2021: And... I came back! This time Marco couldn't join but my girlfriend Marion could and so we did another portion of Kungsleden together. Leaving from Paris, we managed to do the Ammarnäs - Hemavan portion which is a 6 day trip of about 78km. The distance is shorter but the elevation gains are much higher than the northern portion, which makes it particularly tough with a heavy pulka... We were unlucky with the weather with lots of front winds and an often very cloudy sky. That being said, the spectacle was quite similar to the northern portion when we were greeted with those moments of calmness where the valley opened up to show its peaceful yet energizing white endlessness...

Non, Kungsleden n'est pas un pays... mais c'est clairement un monde à part! Etant considérée comme l'une des meilleures randonnées au monde, il faut cravacher pendant à peu près 440km pour la faire en entier.

 

• 2018: Avec mon ami Marco, nous y sommes allés en partant de Stockholm et en avons fait une portion le temps d'une semaine. D'Abisko à Nikkaluokta, en passant par Tarfala pour une excursion d'une journée, on a marché 121km sur nos raquettes à neige. C'était une aventure incroyable et on a hâte d'y retourner!

• 2021: Et... j'y suis revenu! Cette fois, Marco ne pouvait pas venir mais ma copine Marion elle pouvait donc nous avons fait une autre partie de Kungsleden ensemble. En partant de Paris, nous avons réussi à faire la section d'Ammarnäs à Hemavan qui correspond à une rando de 6 jours d'environ 78 km. La distance est plus courte que la partie nord mais le dénivelé est beaucoup plus élevé, ce qui rend la rando particulièrement plus difficile avec une pulka lourde... Nous n'avons pas eu de chance avec la météo avec beaucoup de vents de face et un ciel souvent très nuageux. Cela dit, le spectacle était assez similaire à la partie nord lorsque nous avons été accueillis par ces moments de calme où la vallée s'est dégagée sous nos yeux pour nous montrer son infinité blanche paisible mais énergisante...
